I had a doozy of a time getting it off. I used a pair of dikes (diagonal pliers) to crush down on the outer plastic piece enough to push the inner locking mechanism out. That is the piece actually holding onto the wristband. I then used the pliers to cut that off and finish taking the outer sleeve off.
