I've owned a number of both. I've had zero issue w/ the 2019 and beyond Staccatos, and prefer some of their features/offerings over the old. I don't think there's been a drop in quality, and by that I mean functional quality. The biggest difference btwn then and now is the larger lineup of models and the nicer factory options on the mid-to-late teens STI's.The C2 uses standard Staccato mags so even if they are "too long" you could still use your Staccato P mags in the C2 when training or at the range. I had a Staccato P with a C2 grip that I used for carry but wanted the P back to its full size and also wanted the smaller C2 barrel for carry so just yesterday picked up my C2 for carry.

The weight is a big part of my decisions. My m18 shoots way better than the P365X does and fits my hands much better. The M18 weighs 2.2 lbs loaded and optic compared to 1.4 lbs for the P365X loaded and optic. I think it really comes down to size. If you are using it for edc I would choice the wilson as it is smaller.
