I recently purchased a 2002 Jeep Wrangler Sport but it's overheating. I've replaced the thermostat as well as flushed the cooling system but it's still overheating; especially when it gets warm outside. Any help/insight would be greatly appreciated.Most likely in the engine block if radiator, hoses and the water pump were changed. That could explain running fine for a time and then clogging up the system and causing the overheating. But I think this is the least likely, a blocked engine would act up all the time. LE: forgot about the in-dash heater.I tested on the freeway today and my highway temp is about 221-224F, high of 228 (up inclines) going 70 mph. High heat & A/C fan brought it down to average 217-219F, and low of 212F. I’d say it provides about 6-8 degrees of relief on average. Hopefully it will improve further after taking out grill inserts.

It will get you stuck in dry soft sand also as frt, and rear ends have differing gear ratios. Run tires ( 33's at least) at about 8 lb to 10lbs. (jeep and trailer) if your having a hard time. keep your speed up and when you stop make sure you are headed downhill. Most of the time you will cruze with ease. P.S.Thanks for posting the TSB info. Well if it's your AC that causing you to overheat then to me that means your cooling system is marginal and the increase in heat load from the AC is overloading it.
