It requires a certain amount of recoil to function consistently. Inertia guns tend to recoil more and have less flexibility in the shells that will operate it properly. Beretta shoots softer, takes light target loads, is adjustable for cast as well as drop. Benelli is lighter, adjustable for drop only, recoils a bit more, is a little picky with target loads, easier to clean and maintain. Trigger pull is a little heavier on Benelli but not bad.
