Save games can be transferred between Switches. If you buy a new Switch and want to transfer all your saved games, there is an option for that. It is, however, a transfer and not a copy. So yeah, in there you have to folders, "local" and "remote", plus the file "remotecache.vdf", copy the two folders to whatever backup place you want. Now to start fresh you need to delete the save data withing the menu of the game. Then to load your old save just copy the two folders back to their original place and overwrite everything.We shouldn't have to copy save folders and such, just to have more than one save game.
